Altitude: 1,200 - 1,650 meters

Between 1,200 and 1,650 meters, coffee beans mature differently. At 1,200 meters, they have a balanced flavor due to cooler climates. At 1,650 meters, the cooler conditions lead to brighter acidity and richer flavors. Beans from this altitude range are known for their distinctive taste.

Regions: Tres Rios

Tres Rios, though the smallest coffee-growing region in the country, produces beans that are globally coveted. Often dubbed the “Bordeaux” of coffee due to its superior quality beans, the region benefits from the nutrient-rich soil of the nearby Irazú Volcano. This fertile ground, combined with high altitudes and distinct wet and dry seasons, facilitates the growth of strictly hard bean (SHB) coffees, favored worldwide.

Flavor Notes: Allspice, Orange Citrus, Plum

This coffee offers a well-rounded beverage, beginning with a distinct honey-nut aroma. Upon tasting, notes of orange bring a citrusy touch, followed by the deeper sweetness of plum. The hint of all-spice adds a subtle spice layer. Together, these flavors create a satisfying cup that encourages a second pour.
