4.0 Original coffee chews

I have to add to my review from earlier and comment on the other reviews. Most people agree that the original coffee chews are better in taste. One of the comments, though, was that the original chews were purchased in Costa Rica. I have to disagree with that because I have purchased the coffee chews for several years and they were the "original" ones. But then since about November is when the lighter formula was sent to me. So I know that the original ones can be shipped from the U.S.

3.0 Costarican candy chews

These are the best coffee candy chews in the US. I must, however, agree with the two negative comments below when it comes to comparing these candies with the original ones from Costa Rica. If you read carefully through the reviews you will notice that most people who praise this product bought it from Costa Rica, from the airport, etc. The ones from Costa Rica have a rich flavor and are larger in size, the ones you see in this picture are shipped from Miami FL and are a different stock, lower quality and lower price too. They remain in my opinion the best coffee chews in the US, but if you've tasted the original ones of course you will not be satisfied. I am not.

2.0 Not as good

Agree with 2 previous reviews. Have been buying the coffee chews for several years - ever since my daughter brought home a bag from Costa Rica. Now that they have a new "formula" the taste is less coffee, and the size is smaller (more paper wrapping). Please bring back the original flavor and size. Will not order more after I finish my bags (glad that I didn't order 25 as usual).

1.0 Know the difference

Regarding the previous reviews. Please be aware of the distinction between these chews shipped from Miami and produced God knows where and the ones bought directly from Costa Rica. If you want the real taste purchase the candy chews from Costa Rica available on the internet at double the price but also double the quality. The real ones are larger and more flavorful. These ones are the best available in the US, and for a very good price too, but once you've tasted the real Costa Rican caramellos, these ones will never satisfy your taste.

Just back from San José, I bought some candies at the airport and discovered the fantastic aroma of coffee candy chews ! We bought also the tropical fruit chocolate covered with coco, passion, pineapple.... All are unique (it doesn't exist in France) and delicious and almost addictive.
