Purchased on a recent tour of the Britt tour in CR. This is a delicious treat. My friends loved it when I shared it with them.

5.0 Really pineappley

by Chloe Chocoholic from London on Jul 24, 2008

These are excellent - really pineappley, and the chocolate is smooth and delicious. A slightly citrus-y edge to them, and perhaps an easier taste for those unaccustomed to tropical fruits. So, great as gifts, too.

2.0 Should've read the discription carefully

by Lara from Minneapolis, Mn on Jul 23, 2008

Didn't realize that this wasn't actual pineapple. A bit disappointing.

5.0 Scented tropical delights

by Aussie Coffee Lover from Perth, Australia on Jul 5, 2008

You only have to open a packet of these to get swept up by the sweet pineapple and powerful dark chocolate aroma. It transports your mind to Costa Rica, Hawaii or the Caribbean but, more importantly, it delivers your tastebuds to heaven! The sticky pineapple centre is totally sweet but slightly tart and the dark chocolate is strong and slightly bitter but incredible smooth. The taste combination is so much more than “gourmet”, it’s a tropical taste sensation. They are a perfect snack, dessert or meal…for those with a truly sweet tastebuds!

Chocolate Connoisseur

In Costa Rica, the pineapple is a primary export. It’s widely available year-round. This sweet and acidic tropical fruit is enjoyed by natives in drinks and fruit salads. It is often eaten fresh with a sprinkle of salt!

Pineapple lore offers insight into this regal fruit’s history. It is said that Christopher Columbus himself named the fruit due to its resemblance to a pinecone. Explorers brought pineapples back to Europe, where it quickly became a symbol of opulence and high living. King Louis XIV of France was so eager to try one that he bit in before removing the skin and cut his mouth on the sharp exterior!

Today, the pineapple and its likeness are signs of hospitality and abundance. Our dark chocolate-covered pineapple jellies are just the right offering for colleagues and friends.
